CRISTIANO PORQUEDDU
Cristiano Porqueddu is recognized as one of the greatest interpreters of 20th and 21st century guitar music on the contemporary scene.
Defined by critics as "a point of reference for the new generations of musicians", he began his studies with the teachings of his father Salvatore and after the Excellence obtained in the Specialization Course with Angelo Gilardino at the "Perosi" International Academy of Music, today he is engaged in an international artistic activity that embraces concertism, discography and composition.
Throughout his career he has received awards in international interpretation competitions. His concert activity takes place regularly between Europe and the United States and includes performances in some of the most important concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York or the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow from whose rector he received a letter of commendation.
His record catalog consists of over sixty records released by the Brilliant Classics record company with which he has an over-decade worldwide distribution contract.
Many musicians dedicated to him compositions for solo guitar and guitar and orchestra: Angelo Gilardino, Leo Brouwer, Mark Delpriora, Dušan Bogdanović, Franco Cavallone and several others.

(editor's note)
After having received a request from the Association to write my memory dedicated to the MasterAngelo Gilardino I reflected a lot on the many things I wanted and could tell.

Finally, I decided that, as far as I'm concerned, I prefer the notes of the piece "Recuerdo una Brisa Triste por los Olivos", the tombeau I wrote in memory of the Maestro to represent my "feeling".

My words would not be able to say with equal clarity what those notes, masterfully performed in the interpretation of Alberto Mesirca, whom I thank, are capable of evoking.
